Day 3

Today I went on a company visit to

Advance Science and Technology Institute (ASTI)

The institute is also located at UP. They conduct scientific research and development in the advanced fields of Information and Communications Technology and Microelectronics. They have the vision that the ASTI shall be among the leading Research and Development Centers in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and Electronics within the Southeast Asian region. Their mission is that the ASTI in committed to the development of the Filipino society and the Philippines as a nation. They shall contribute to the attainment of national development priorities and the growth of Philippines enterprises by providing innovative solutions using ICT and electronics technology.

What I learned?

I found out that the creators of the Bayanihan operating system was working at the ASTI. We also learned some stuffs about the early warning devices and the likes.

What I liked?

I like the technologies that they have showed to us. It was really helpful to the country especially now that we are facing some weather disturbances.

What I didn’t like?

I think they are not aware that we are going to visit their institution. And also their bathroom made me laugh out loud. If you have gone there, you will know why.

Today I went on a company visit to

Telecommunications Technical Institute

After ASTI there is TTI. This institute can be found at Valenzuela. It is a bit creepy for me because of the very old structure of the buildings. It is like a setting in a horror movie.

What I learned?

Even if the building structures were too old, their facilities and equipments were very expensive! I also learned that their job was really risky. I never thought that those wire that they are crimping were dangerous and might even lead to death!

What I liked?

They really took good care of the equipments. I think they are doing that because of its cost. The speakers really proved to us that they are a virtuoso on the field of telecommunications.

What I didn’t like?

Their buildings it is very quiet. It is like a haunted institute for me.

Day 2 (October 5, 2010)

Day 2

Today, I went on a company visit to

UP Diliman, Quezon City

It is day 2 and our first stop was the University of the Philippines Diliman. We went there for the UP-USeP Information Technology Symposium. I felt much honor when I entered at that school and become one of the listeners of the symposium. And since it is a symposium about Information Technology we will be discussing topics which are related to our course. The topics that we have discussed were about Writing a Winning Thesis which is presented by Rose Ann Sale, another one is the Visualizing Wikipedia Article Evolution with Stream Graphs being talked about by John Boaz Lee, next is The Personal Learning Environment which was tackled by Michelle Lee Moscatel. Ms. Len de Gracia discussed about the Animation. An then the Mobile Device Game Development by Professor Carlos Bott and the last topic which is about Empowering the Nation through Educational Technology who is delivered by Ferdinand B. Pitagan.

What I learned?

I really learned lots of stuffs at the symposium and all those stuffs can be found below this paragraph.

The first one was writing a Winning Thesis which is discussed by Rose Ann Sale.

She talked about the Stages in Writing a Winning Thesis and those stages are:

o Thinking about it Stage

o The Proposal Stage

o Research Objective/Burning your eyebrow Stage

o Nerve Wracking Stage

o “I DID IT!” Stage

After that she also shared an inspirational quote about writing a thesis. She said:

“If you write a thesis you got to find what you enjoy, love, appreciate, interest and unique. BE UNIQUE.”

The second speaker was Chinese guy whose name is John Boaz Lee. He talks about Visualization and here are some of the things which composed Visualization:

o Data Mining

o Playing with the data

o Pattern detection

o Structured data

o Visual

o Processing

o Trend detection

The third topic was being tackled by Michelle Moscatel which is Personal Learning Environment. She tells us that Personal Learning Environment is the advancements of technology and it is also the institutionalized personal learning. She also discussed to us that UPITTC will help us build solid I.T. careers.

The next one was the most inspiring for me that it made me awake from drowsiness. The next topic talks about Animation and the speaker was an artist named Len de Gracia. She just gave us a brief discussion about Animation. But within that brief discussion was a great inspiration. She told us that as an artist, you do not need to learn complex programming and stuffs. You would not also need some good grades to become one. All you need is the passion and also the portfolio.

Another fun topic was the Mobile Application Game Development by Carlos Bott. When it was his turn to speak, everyone in the auditorium stops and stares at him, they listened to him attentively because of his very fluent English accent simply because he is a foreigner. To be true to myself there are some points that I did not able to understand because of his accent. But overall I find his presentation very educational especially to those who are inclined with game development. I never thought that creating a game would almost take you a lifetime to create once such game was Starcraft II. I was shocked about how long it took the developers of that game to finish it.

The last speaker was a little bit in contrast with what Len de Gracia said about not minding of the grades. Dr. Ferdinand B. Pitagan whose topic talks about Empowering the Nation through Educational Technology. He really emphasized that grades really matter but I believe that is in accordance to his topic. I think it really depends on what are you planning. After all, it is really up to us on what road or path are going to take and how are you going to take that path.

What I liked?

All of the topics were very interesting for me. But what really struck me the most was the Animation which is discussed by Len de Gracia. It really inspires me a lot. Yes, she is right that grades really do not matter when it comes to animation. I learned that I should really love what I am doing because this is what I have chosen and this I what I am going to be despite of the failing grades and everything that is not good. I will still strive and do my best to finish my studies. Another thing that I have learned is also the welcoming of the finest Professor in UP, Professor Brana, he encourages us that we should never give up and always aim for excellence. This is also another thing that pushed not only me but also my fellow classmates. He also made us believe that things that are impossible to happen would be possible with the help of hard work and faith.

What I didn’t like?

The symposium is somehow dragging on my part. There are some speakers that made me sleepy, maybe it is because of their topics or their topics were being elaborated too much.

Today I went on a company visit to

UP AyalaLand Techno Hub

A business-commercial complex located on the property of UP Diliman near Philcoa, along Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City. Long ago this land was idle, occasionally used as the venue for an outdoor fair/carnival every Christmas season. Today, this area is a bustling community 24hours a day, seven days a week. The transformation never seizes to amaze me. Turning an idle patch land which was dark and filled with grass into this economic zone near the largest state run University is definitely an improvement and I hope a sign of progress.

What better way to promote business inside this hub of technology than having one of the biggest names in the industry such as IBM Philippines to hold its office in the premises. Other company includes SeaChange.

What I learned?

Well at SeaChange they said that it is the largest provider of Video on Demand (VOD). Their market was big international TV stations. Here in the Philippines ABS-CBN is one of their customers. They allow us to have a peek into their working stations and their data center. They even showed us how and what VOD is.

After a tour at SeaChange we went to one of the biggest company which is the IBM or International Business Machines Company. We went inside their function room and there we met Miss Iris Chiu and she introduced to us IBM. In the year 1937 the company was established here in the Philippines. She also tells us that their manufacturing of personal computer was sold to LENOVO which is also one of their business partners. From the discussion I have learned that this company is a BPO or Business Process Outsourcing company. They also have lots of services such as Networking, Site Integration, System Services and Maintenance and Technical Services. We are also toured at their data center which is located outside the function room. They also let schools and other small business owners to use their servers for their own business purposes. IBM is very cool because they are much willing to help those students and business newbie to start their own businesses.

What I liked?

They really gave us a boost especially now that we are facing lots of major subjects. All of the speakers really gave us an encouragement to finish what we have started no matter how long or how hard it would be.

What I didn’t like?

There are two things which I didn’t like on this day. One is at the auditorium; the atmosphere really gave me the feeling of being drowsy. The next is that I did not able to have my lunch. That’s all!

Day 1 (October 4, 2010)

Day 1

Today, I went on a company visit to

Social Security System

An agency which is created to establish a social security protection to workers in the private sector, wage earners as well as self-employed persons. It is implemented in accordance with the Republic Act 116, better known as Social Security Act of 1954. The company was located at the East Avenue Quezon City. We arrived at the location at exactly 9:10 in the morning. When it comes to security the company was very strict. They are also very strict in monitoring every person who is going in and out of the said company. While we were inside the company I felt like I am one of the employee maybe it is because I am also wearing formal attire which really fit in the company.

What I learned?

Before I am going discuss the things that I have learned at the SSS I will first share what I have learned from our very educational tour guide. While we are still cruising on the bus we have already learned lots of stuffs and that is because of our very informative tour guide, we are used to call him Kuya Al. He told us that the symposium usually lasts for more or less two hours. Another thing that he shared was a brief history about the Philippines; he told us that Quezon City became the capital of the Philippines during Commonwealth regime and that was year 1976 and from 1976 up to the present year the capital of the Philippines is Manila. Our tour guide also shared about the meaning of the name of the city which is Manila; he told us that long ago Manila was once called as Maynila; “May” which means “meron” or “mayroon” and “Nilad” which means Mangrove tree. While we were strolling at the EDSA he told us another trivia again. He said that EDSA was also called as Highway 45.

The company of Social Security System was the first establishment that we have visited and from their company I learned lots of things from them. For me to be able to make it clearer, I am going to discuss what we did and also all the things that I have learned from them.

The first thing that we did at the company is that we had a symposium at their auditorium. I think it lasted for almost two hours; I did not able to mind how long it is maybe it’s because of the very cold temperature. The master of the ceremony was Ms. Mercy Locena. She was introduce the guest speaker which is Mrs. Marissu G. Bugante who is the current Vice President for the public affairs. With the aid of her speech she gave us students a very warm welcome to their company. Mrs. Bugante appreciates the idea of choosing their company; the Social Security System to be one of the companies that we are going to visit. Then after the welcoming and the appreciation thingy she then talks about the rule of Social Security System through her power point presentation. She also discussed about the protection of the company that they give to their member against the economic and social distressed that is caused by contingencies. To make it more understandable, the Social Security System provides the assistance and benefits for the members who are suffering from future catastrophe such as death and retirement. Social Security System corporate values are trust, empowerment and teamwork; these three things are very important factors to be considered. Another thing that she talks about was the company’s mission and vision which is to serve for the good and welfare for the Filipino citizen. She also talked about the importance of getting a membership and participation to us for the future use and requirement. Mrs. Bugante was finished with her discussion but was followed by the department manager (member relations) which is Mrs. Eugenia dela Cruz. She shared to us the history of the company and also the years when it was founded. I have learned that the Social Security System was originated in the year 1957; and they celebrated their 53^rd year last September 1, 2010. The company has 168 branches which is located nationwide with 14 oversea branches to sum it all up there are a total of 180 Social Security System working establishments. I also learned that from 1970 up to 1983 the NCR Machines are found at Baguio and Dagupan. The NCR machines which are Centralized Computer Processing from 1983-1986 which uses Oracle DBMS. And in the year 1992 to 1996 Social Security System is undergoing a business recovery system which they used the SUNM9000 as the server in the main office in San Pablo.

The hardware specialist of the company was Mr. Leo C. Abayan. He is the specialist on the working technologies partake all the information about functioning equipment inside the establishment. In short, they are the ones who is capable of producing IDs that the Social Security System members were using. They are operated with biometrics ID system for civilian purposes. Unfortunately, they are not producing IDs for the members anymore – the reason behind it was that they are trying to create a new and improved ID production which they called that Unified Purpose ID Card. This ID card can avail in all purposes. In addition to what I have learned is the they have approximately 1.7 billion of information that is stored in their database record in their main server.

What I liked?

After the symposium we are clustered into three groups and then we are allowed to explore what is inside their company. At first I really thought that companies are really full of boring stuffs. Fortunately, the Social Security System proved me wrong with their very amazing history that can be found at their Museum. I really admire how they arranged their vintage equipments and some fun to read history of the company.

What I didn’t like?

What I really don’t like at their company is their auditorium. The temperature was really low that I cannot almost understand what the speaker is saying because I am already out of my concentration. I also don’t like the way they speak because it made me really drowsy at that time.

Today, I went on a company visit to

First Academy of Computer Arts

- One of the country's leading providers of digital TESDA-approved design technology courses. With its continuing dedication to curriculum development, it is fast becoming a preeminent gateway for careers in advertising, animation design, multimedia communication and web development. We arrived at the establishment at 3:06 in the afternoon. When we arrive at the academy we are welcomed by their Career Management Adviser named Michelle. We have waited for a few minutes before we started our discussion. Our first discussion talks about digital arts, we discussed about how the technology and computer arts evolved, and about animation. The process of animation is the series of motion of pictures. They also talk about the kinds of animations; the 2D animation and the 3D animation. The 2D animation which is the classic one the recent and newest generation of animation is the 3D animation. They also talked about PMA or Print Media Arts and under PMA are raster and vector images. They also showed us some examples of 2D animation that were made from the portfolios of their students. They showed us lots of various kinds of animation such as comic type animation and also 2D animation. After the mini presentation that they have made Mr. Chris was introduced. He then showed us how to create a 3D image by using the software which they called MAYA. He made a 3D apple with stem and a leaf.

What I liked?

I was really amazed when the first time I entered the First Academy of Computer Arts. It felt like I am living in a sanctuary where there were lots of stuffs which I really like. Such as computers, artistic designs, their artistic freedom wall and everything nice that is related to arts.

What I didn’t like?

What I didn’t like about their academy is their rooms. It is very small and narrow. There is also something which I did not like and that is their presentation on how to create a sample 3D image. I was a bit disappointed because Mr. Chris did not manage to create a finished work of his sample 3D image which is I think the cause of time overdue. But overall it is very nice that we visited the academy despite of all those little things that made me disappointed.

Field Trip Overview`

Field Trip Overview

We had our Major Field at Manila last October 4-8, 2010. On each day of the field trip, we went on some various companies that can be found within the perimeter of Manila. In five consecutive days we visited lots of companies like Social Security System, First Academy of Computer Arts, UP Diliman, Ayala Techno Hub, Advance Science and Technology Institute, Telecommunications Training Institute, PLDT – INNOLAB, MMDA and we went to Tagatay and Enchanted Kingdom. Yahoo!

Via Cebu Pacific we have arrived at the Domestic airport at around 8 A.M. After that we went to the bus in which we are assigned. The first company that we have visited was the SSS (Social Security System). The company was located at the East Avenue, Quezon City. We had our symposium at the said company which lasted for two hours more or less. It was already lunchtime when we have finished our company visit; we had our lunch at the Great Eastern Hotel located at Makati. The next company that we visited was the First Web Academy which is also located at the Makati City. A couple of hours after the visit we went shopping at SM Mall of Asia and had our dinner at Atcha’s restaurant located outside the mall. It was a busy day and after all of that we checked in at the Garden Plaza Hotel located at Paco, Manila.

We started our second day with a breakfast at the Grills and Sizzles restaurant which is located at Examiner, Quezon City. Then after that we went to UP Diliman still located at Quezon City. At the said location we had our UP-USeP Information Technology Symposium 2010. We only had our lunch at the university. The next company that we visited was the Ayala Techno Hub at the Commonwealth. We went back to UP right after our company visit at the Techno Hub. And then we went to Trinoma for shopping, again. We had our dinner at the Tramway restaurant located at Timog Avenue, Quezon City.

On the third day of our pleasurable but strenuous field trip we went to ASTI (Advance Science and Technology Institute wherein we found the people behind the operating system called Bayanihan. After that we went to Telecommunications Technical Institute. And at dinner time we were only given an equal amount of money for us to have something to eat. We also went shopping at the Tutuban Mall.

One of the most exciting day was the fourth day of our field trip. What makes it exciting is that we are going to Tagaytay specifically at the Peoples Park in the Sky. And lastly at the Enchanted Kingdom.

It was the fifth and the last day of our field trip. Somehow I felt a little bit sad simply because we are leaving Manila at the end of the day. We checked out at the hotel and then had our breakfast also at the hotel. Then after that we went to MMDA at Mandaluyong for our last company visit. After that we went to SM Mall of Asia and had our lunch at the Taste Asia and then went inside the mall for a little shopping. We waited for our bus to “SUNDO” us and then went to the Domestic airport and then off to Davao City via Cebu Pacific.

Steve Jobs Commencement Address

Last June 12, 2005, Apple founder Steve Jobs’ gave his commencement address in front of the graduates of Stanford University. Jobs was a college dropout himself, He opened his speech with this phrase, “Truth be told, this is the closest I’ve ever gotten to a college graduation.” I never knew that a college dropout would become the most influenced business leader in the world today and also one of the most respected names in the computer industry.
Steve began his speech by talking about the three stories which are the factors that are most important to his remarkable success over the past three decades. The first story was about what he called “connecting the dots”. His experiences in life at that time was seemingly little. However, somewhere down the road, the significance of even the tiniest events would reveal themselves to Jobs. One example is the calligraphy course where Jobs was enrolled. He was an official dropped out of the school so that is why he is free to take any courses he wanted. He learned everything about serif and san serif typefaces to the varying amount of space between different letter combinations. “None of this had even a hope of any practical applications in my life,” Jobs said. “But ten years later, when we were designing the first Macintosh computer, it all came back to me. And we designed it all into the Mac. It was the first computer with beautiful typology.”
Jobs said that if he had never dropped in on that calligraphy class, the Mac as the world knows it today would never have multiple typefaces and proportional fonts that it does. And that is what Jobs means by connecting the dots, it is something which can only be done when looking backwards. “You have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future,” he says. “You have to trust in something – your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the differences in my life.”
What I have learned from his first story is to try appreciating all things even up to the smallest stuffs in your life because someday you would not know that smallest stuff will be a tool in accomplishing your goal. The next thing I have learned is to trust into something especially to God. Trust is a great key which can help you all the way in your journey to life. Another that I have also realized is that by having trust you can also build up confidence.
The second story in Steve Jobs’ commencement speech was that of “love and loss.” He was so fortunate that he have discovered his passion early in his life. Steve Jobs was smashed when he was fired from the very company that he had helped found. However, it was the very passion of his own that helped him sustain and put his career on the rebound. And then he started a company named NeXT, and another company named Pixar which created the world’s first computer animated feature film, Apple bought out NeXT and brought Jobs back on board. “Sometimes life hits you in the head with a brick,” Steve Jobs said. “I’m convinced that the only thing that kept me going was that I loved what I did.”
I have learned a lot on Steve Jobs’ second story. I must really find what I really love because without it I would probably have a hard time on spending the precious days in my life. Now that I am still searching for the thing that I love, I also learned that I must not settle and I really have to find it! And lastly, the best thing that I learned in his second story is to not give up even if the world is against you. I learned that I must stand up and face all the trials in my life.
The last story Steve Jobs told was one about death. He came close to the edge after being diagnosed with cancer in 2004, and was even told that he would have no longer than three to six months to live. After doctors discovered it was in fact a rare and curable form of pancreatic cancer, Jobs recovered, but not before learning an important lesson. “Remembering that I’ll be dead soon is the most important tool I’ve ever encountered to help me make the big choices in life,” he told the students. “Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose.”
His last story I think is the climax of his life. It serves as a turning point. And with his story I have learned a lot from what he had said to the students of Stanford University and that is not to waste my time living with someone else’s life simply because our time is limited. I should not let the noise of others’ opinion drown out my own inner voice. And the most important lesson that I have learned from Steve Jobs’ speech is to have the courage to follow my heart and my intuition. “They somehow already know what you truly want to become.” Steve Jobs said.
The Steve Jobs’ Commencement address ended with four simple but powerful words of advice from the billionaire entrepreneur and that is to “Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish.” To stay hungry which means to starve or to ask for more even if you already have what you want. And as a technopreneur we should stay hungry because if not we would probably become lazy and contented from what we have. And to stay hungry which means to reach your goals and be foolish enough to take risks for in that way you will only reach and achieve your goals in life. Steve Jobs’ commencement address is really motivating and it indeed inspires me a lot. And as a student I have set my first goal and that is to finish my college.

My purpose in life is...

My purpose in life is to live for God. We are not here on Earth to be remembered but instead we existed to prepare for eternity. What really matters most is what God says not what other people says.

Reflection/Insights

Last July 28, 2010 (Wednesday), we had a test in our Technopreneurship subject. Almost all of us were alarmed and it is because some of us were not able to study on our past lectures about the subject. Some were panicking and some do not even know what to do. Everyone calmed down when our facilitator have told us that we are just going to have a Personality Test that will serve as a preliminary exam for the first semester. It was a 32 item test which is all about entrepreneurship and we are just asked to choose if it is letter A or letter B. Each choice has different kinds of scenario wherein we need to choose which situation would really fit to us. I think there are one or two items where I became a little bit confused on which letter I should choose.
In this paragraph I would like to share to you my personal reflection on the personality test that we took. At first, I was absolutely clueless on what would be the outcome or shall we say the result of the said test. Practically speaking I still do not have the enough experiences about technopreneurship. If I were to compare myself to a thing that would fit my ability in business I think I am just an tiny organism that cannot be seen by a naked eye, a microscopic organism to be exact and I think that is the reason why I naïve or shall we say doubtful about what will be the result of our practical test. But all my doubts were washed away when it turned out to be dissimilar. It was like “WOW!” I cannot believe of the result and then I realized that I must never judge my own capability not even limiting my skill to something that I think I can only do. There is also some intriguing ideas that pops out from my mind, I was wondering where did they came up with this kind of test and how did they manage to make this accurate as they were made to really distinguish the personality of the one who takes the test.
I never thought that the test would go as smooth as it is. I find the test really fun simply because it was easy and it is the only type of test that the questions are not visible. Well, seriously I find it fun because of the situation or scene focuses on how to deal accordingly with your family, friends and all the people around you. Another thing is that some scenario was centered on how to be an effective person not only for other people but most especially to ourselves. Without even noticing it we finished the test immediately, our facilitator spares us some time to review the choices for there might be a tendency that we have picked the erroneous option, in my case I was confident with what I have picked so I did not bother to review the answers anymore. Right after my classmates reviewed their selection we already have the result of the test. We summed up the results and I was amazed with the result that I got which is forty-four. Then suddenly, I asked my classmate who sits beside me if how much score did she have, and I was surprised that we have the same score; and wait we did not share the same answer. When our facilitator knew all the results, he was astounded that most of us got the average score ranging from thirty-eight up to forty-six. He told us that he did not expect that everyone will get the average score which is equal to “somewhat entrepreneurial” and you can really see it from his face. After all the noises which is rooted by the students sharing the results our facilitator praised us and said that we are the best of the best, that we are the GIANTS of the university, the skilled and talented students and the endangered species. I did not expect that our facilitator will speak out those words from his mouth. It makes me wonder, if all those things that he have said to us were real then why are so many irregular students in the institution? Then my question was answered when our facilitator continued speaking and told us that what he have said a while ago were real and a hundred percent true but there are people in the institution that blocks us from reaching the top and I think one of the factors that made some of the students irregular. What he was trying to say to us is that there exists the “terminators” of the institution and to be specific the faculty. Then after that everyone nods at the same time smiling when they hear the word “terminator” thinking that indeed it was really true. Anyway, I’m still glad that they exist because without them we will remain dull of the subjects in our course.
Taking this test helps me realize few things. Things which are full of meaning and very essential most especially to us students. I learned that we must not be always farsighted. What I mean is we must not always look at the things that might happen tomorrow. I believe that by being farsighted constantly might affect the things that we are doing in the present. I also learned that we must not criticize ourselves for it will be the root of losing the most precious self-confidence that some people really wanted to have. After we knew the results I become conscious to the way I think because it will really affect our way of growing up. Fortunately, I have experienced the true essence of growing up and that is not just to grow physically, but to grow spiritually, to make it easy to grow with God. I believe that by growing with God you will surely be granted with a “growth package” wherein you will experience a healthy growth in your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health. But, sad to say that recently my growth was paused; my socializing ability was broken and I even spend my day just by playing that childish game. I feel so down at that time, I feel like I am carrying the earth but then I realized that I should not be taken over with this worldly things and I must stand up and do what I really have to do. Another thing that I have learned is that I must never ever think of giving up instead think positively and be strong always. Every one of us was facing heaps of problems that need solutions and trials that needed to be overcome. What I am really pointing here is one of the functions of the SEED program which is self-mastery. Self-master might sound selfish but if you will never help yourself then how are you going to help others? Self-mastery is the ability to make the most out of our physical, mental, and spiritual health. In other words, to be the best you can be.
As a fruit of your efforts, you will be able to help everyone around you. In order for you to change the world around you, for the better, you have to change yourself for the better, along the way. You cannot sit on a mountain top waiting for perfection before you help you fellow man. The time to help is now, and we must look at ourselves as works in progress. Appreciate yourself for who you are, what you are, and what you have accomplished so far. Appreciate your friends, family and associates for who they are. Accept them, as they are, without expecting perfection. This is a common mistake for parents to make with their children, but it also happens in a variety of relationships. So, let go of demands on others, especially unrealistic demands. One question for this matter is where do we start learning the secrets of self mastery? Okay, so once we have accepted all things around us, without any demand, then we already taken the first step. And there are two important factors here. The first one is once you accept people, and situations, for what they are, you will not waste time and energy with frustration. This causes inner frustration, emotional turmoil, worries, and depression. Secondly, once you change yourself, through positive self mastery, the world around you will change for the better, without much effort on your part. You will not be able to make all of the changes to mind, body, and spirit, at once, but they are all connected to one another. The first large component is physical. Our body needs constant maintenance in a variety of methods such as weight resistance, flexibility, and cardio-vascular strength, require us to cross train. So, if you have been on the couch too long, then I guess it is time to get off and stand up! This one is physical change, of daily exercise, will help you in every aspects of your life. You will absolutely feel better about yourself. But in case you do not have enough spare time for three types of exercise, you can practice at least one that will give you maximum benefits. Those three types are Yoga, swimming, and martial arts, based on the internet and some people, they are very good recommendations, as each of them cross trains the body with fair variety. For my personal exercise, whenever we have some family bonding, we go out to the beach to relax and to swim. Therefore, at the same time I can enjoy my bonding with my family and also have fun on keeping myself healthy.
Okay let us go back to the personality test. I believe that this test is very important not only for knowing one’s self but also they serve a very crucial function in our society or people; our society also plays an important role especially in entrepreneurship so that is why we must be aware of it. Even though the question types and personality classification differ from test to test, they provide insight into the human psyche. Personality test provides us with a way to categorized different characteristics or traits that we really have to consider or otherwise not be aware of. In addition, the classification will help us learn how others might react to something in each of their own environment. Actually, there are many different uses for personality tests in modern society. These tests can be used for self-reflection and understanding (a factor that is also needed in technopreneurship; what I mean is self-mastery), for job placement, and for learning how to better interact with others in a team or work group.
This reflection plays a vital role for me because it helped me realized that what I am doing in the past few days was unrighteous and it might be the reason that I might crush my own dream and goal. It also serves as my wakeup call because this helps me open my eyes and see the right or wrong. All the realization that I have learned were very important for me because it will really affect my personality. I do not want to end up saying “what ifs”.
And as finishing paragraph I would like to share to you the quote which I have formulated based on what I have reflected. My personal quote is “If you want a better world; then be a better person.”This quote really opens my mind and helps me bring back my confidence to myself. I am so thankful to our facilitator that he have let us made our reflection for the personality traits because without it I am probably still sitting on the couch, slowly loosing myself and without further notice destroying my social life. This is really one of the best reflection I have ever had. I guess that is enough. Thanks!
